Have a glass body that doesn't have enough foam core supports in it. My question is, what does everyone use for core material and where can you purchase it. I just need enough for the front and rear areas of the roof hatch to support my buddies kiester for when he gets out and gets on roof behind hatch. Tried researching on the web and can't seem to find any kind of foam panels that can be fiberglassed inside body. Any help appreciated.

You can get the coring at fiberglast.com. Use the divinymat. I use it with fiberglass or epoxy. Hope this helps.

what you need is called urethane foam to make reinforcement braces in the body buy 1" thick a half sheet will be plenty cut to the width 2" -3" glue it to the body where you want the brace you can mix a little bondo as glue wipe a thin layer over the back side of the foam hold it in place till it dries couple min take 80 grit sand paper this foam sands real easy round the edges of the foam this will make it easier to lay the fiberglass over it use a 2" brush to work the air bubbles out when it dries you will have a new brace any questions if you need help give me a call 812 228 7683

    Bodies

Not all fiberglass bodies need reinforcement. I have known more that one racer who bought new bodies and thought they needed more structure. And after the body was mounted with the chassis and tree holding it in place they decided it didn't need all that extra internal structure. If it was mine I would mount it on the chassis before I added any structure to the body. Dave Germain

The foam doesnt give it strength, the product you put over it does. Make sure you angle the sides and buy the right size fiberglass "tape" to make your project turn out nice.

Tin is already in car. Found some closed cell foam and will be putting in 1 24inch piece across roof behind hatch. This will work just fine. Again thanks for all the info and tips!
