Looking for some advise. I have made a plate to set my blower, a LF 14 HH back to where it places the pie outlet closer to the center of the intake ports on my hemi. That location needs a 10" to an 11" snout to make the top pulley line up. I am still looking for a snout this long but does anyone see any issues I need to address to make this long of a snout work? I am turning it about 42% over.
I have found several 8.625" snouts but I would have to turn the top pulley backwards to get it out there far enough. Any issues doing this either?
Also, I use s 2 step for launch rpm control launching about 5,800 rpm. Would the cylinder firing interruptions on the 2 step cause this long of a snout to fail early? Any suggestions? Anyone have a snout this long?
    Thanks ITA

you need to talk to Andy at Littlefields, if I'm thinking rite you will need a support on the snout like the t/f cars run..but ask andy..Dave

RCD makes a long snout, and a fuel pump extension for the RCD gear drive that has a clamp provison to it. I have a couple of the snouts, but, they are like 5.0 to the back of the clamping area and like 7.0 to where the fuel pump would mount ?

    Blower Snout Issues

    Hi Dave,
I kind of expected I would need to have a snout support of some kind. I am still worried that the rev limiter at launch might cause the cylinder firing interruptions to cause early failure of the bearing in the snout. Do you know if there is a double front bearing snout available in an 11" length?
BTW: I called Littlefields and talked to Lee (Andy was not available). Lee said the longest length they had was an 8 5/8" snout. He did not offer to make a longer length. After that, I did not inquire about the bearing or support issues.
I will call RCD tomorrow and inquire about the 11" snout and get their advise on using it.
    Thanks again for your reply.
    Barry

I did just what you are talking about. I use a 12 inch snout with a support with a 14-71 mert hh. I drive it 54 over with no problems.Alot of people told me it would not make much difference. They were very wrong. Good luck.

    11" Blower Snout

I ended up finding a machine shop that regularly makes snouts and had them make me an 11", said to have double bearings on the pulley end. I had them make it to the full OD of the 6 bolt flange to blower end (for support of the long snout) and taper it to the standard snout diameter in the first five inches and polish it. Nice piece. I have not used it yet. I bought it in advance of my blower set-back project. It is still new in the box, with 1 1/4" fine spline drive collar.
