Was at Bakersfield this past weekend and saw some great Nastalga Top Fuel racing. Most of the cars were running the set back blowers. However one of the better running cars was not. When asked why was told "we turned the rotors around". Someone explain this to me. Or was the guy just being a smart ass?

on "little blowers" (6 and 8-71's) if you turn the rotors around it goes a long way toward eliminating the disparity in fuel/air distribution to the cylinders... therefore no need for a set-back or a wide spread on the ports.

and i'll take a guess... it was on a chevy?

The car was the one tuned by Frank Hedge and driven by Mindy Fry.

The Plaza car? It makes the blower a rear discharge, (sort of). Helping to even out distribution.

what do they do with the opening on the bottom of the blower? also wouldnt you still have the same problem but in reverse? all the rear cyl's requiring more fuel than the front instead of the opposite?

This is like a lot of things. When you say them in a hurry it sounds simple.
How about the old man (Jack Harris) getting back in his car and making a 5.72 @ 265 mph!!!! That made the trip from Texas worth it.
