Hey guys I am wondering what your blower outlet temps are roots vs screw. I do not have a blower I run Twin Turbos on a BBC and just wanted something for comparision sake. Like what does the intake temp look like when you leave the starting line and then say when you are at the 1/8th then maybe at the finish line and a what boost pressure.

    Thanks in advance guys.

For comparison a Screw blower is 115-119 and a rootes is 125-130. Those temps are dependent on the amount of OD also.

woah thats not very hot at all, Is that because of the hat nozzles cooling the charge temps? I am thinking of back spraying my turbos similar to a hat nozzle on a blower to cool the temps as we are 250 plus

Yes it is because of the alcohol.

I run alcohol also but my manifold temp is 280 degress by the 1/8th but I only run injectors at the very base of the manifold spraying directly into the port doesnt really get a chance to cool the manifold. Just wondering if I ran an injector or 2 on the outlet of both turbos to mix with the hot air and drop the charge temps.

For example what would your manifold temps be if you ran no hat nozzles?

It would be close to the same as yours maybe a little higher due to friction of the rotating rotors. We also use the alcohol to lubricate and seal the rotors. A screw blower doesn't have the friction of a Rootes blower so we put less alcohol into the hat. There is a lot of heat just generated by compression which you are seeing.

    Mike,

Your the man! Thanks for the info. Just out of curiousity what percentage of your overall fuel do you put through the hat?

careful on the backfire on the intake ????
also the fuel will be pushed to the back of intake ?
    doesnot like turning corners...

can you put the injecter higher in the runner, and allow more time to cool the air...????

Percentahe depends on if it is a screw or Rootes. Normaly try for 60-65% in the hat on a Rootes and a lot less on a screw.
