Where do you measure a blower drive to determine it's actual length?
I have a KB block with an 8-71. I have been told by a few people that the drive needs to be 5" in length for a Hemi.
Wouldn't the drive length be different depending on who's front cover, size of blower and intake is on the engine ? One guy I spoke with told me he used a short drive he had and then put a spacer on the end of the shaft.
    Thanks for any help.

Yep, it depends on the depth of the gear cover, where the manifold positions the blower case, the blower case legnth, a setback plate?, and the crank hub. I'd have the pulley on the crank, align the belt tensioner pulley using a straight edge long enough to get a measurement from the straight edge to the front of the blower gear cover before ever thinking about buying a snout.

Am I correct that the drive is measured from the mounting surface of the front cover or rear of the drive mounting surface to the front flange surface to where the pulley mounts?
