I just wanted to get some opinions.

Im building a blown alky 572" Mopar wedge, I know its kinda big but its what I have, here is my combo.
8-71 at 25% over, im guessing 15 lbs of boost
    11.5 to 1 compression
If anyone knows the 572-13 head, its pretty big, made 1000+ hp on my NA motor at 14.5 to 1 compression.
Im running an old Crower 8 port injector.
Im thinking somewhere in the 1400 to 1500 hp range.
Powerglide with 1.8 low gear 5000 stall converter.
    4.56 gear in a 3100 lb car with 12"x31.25" Phoenix's
This is a nostalgia only car, setup like an old S/FX , no electronics, but I do run the hell out of it. I run a Vertex mag and a tach and thats it.

Ok, on to my question, am I safe with an 8mm pitch belt or should I go with a 13.9-14mm?

Another question, what is your preference, idler on the inside of the belt or on the outside of the belt? I see both, usually the fast cars run on the inside, im just wondering if its more of a personal preferance or is there an advantage to run on the inside?

This is my first blown alcohol build so any information or thoughts would be great.

Yea I know im pushing those tires pretty hard, but that about all that will fit, and I dont like nostagia cars with superwide 16"x33" tires, they didnt have them in 1970.

    belt

Acording to RCD Sts. HTD / Power Grip GT2 can be bent back wards. The Poly Chain GT2 should NOT be bent backwards. Hope it helps a little. Thanks Don

You shouldn't have any trouble at all with an 8-71 at 25% over, and the 572-13 head ought to work really well for what you're doing. Your boost levels obviously won't be as high with that many cubes but I wouldn't fixate too much on that as you'll still be moving a lot of air and fuel. If you don't have any idlers yet, get a 3 3/8ths wide idler, that way you can run a 8mm-1600mm-85mm wide industrial Gates or Goodyear belt unless you've got a short manifold, then you might need the the 1440mm length. I get them for around $115 a piece and have had great luck with them. Sounds like you're going to have a fun ride, don't know where you're located but check out www.nostalgiaprocomp.com , believe you're car would fit right in some of the gas classes and its a great group of guys and gals to race with. Good luck.

Thanks for the imput, good information is always welcome. I've run with the NPCA several times and like it so far, my cousin runs a Jr Fuel slingshot and they always have a class for my door car. Now im going to try for there B/Gas 8.50 index.
