All, looking at the feasibility of converting a 706 BBC NOS motor to a 565ci blower motor. I have a donovan block, 11.625 deck height, with a set of Big Duke Brodix heads, 18 degree. Valves are 2.45 and 190. I run the Jesel valvetrain setup and am wondering if that will handle what I'm looking to do. Can this easily be done?

I'm looking to run Q8 dragster outlaw classes and some IHRA/NHRA TD races. wanting to put a 14/71 on, but nothing to rotate the earth, but run 3.90's in 1/8th and low 6's in 1/4. can anyone offer the pros/cons of doing this vs. selling outright and putting something together?

I'd appreciate any feedback, good or bad. have tough skin so be honest.

I would suggest you look at the prices for complete motors with a handfull of runs hat to pan, less the price for your motor after you sell it compared to the cost of motor conversion, crank, rods, pistons, rings, blower, blower drive, manifold, gear drive, belt, fuel system, hat. etc and you will probably have the answer to you own question.

Then throw in the fact that the hat to pan deal will be a solid block head deal designed for the abuse and high cylinder pressure a blower imparts and you will also see that your maintainence will be a lot cheaper.

    Just my 2 cents,
