Here is a link to the Billings (Acton) drag strip. I have met the new operator in the past, and have to say I'm a little worried about the track making it. :( If you look through the info, you will find that he has closed the beer garden and will not let any alcohol on site :eek:. He states the reason is for problems in the past.....I have never seen any problems and I personally know most of the racers that go on a weekly basis. Anyway just thought some of you would like to know that there is a web site, (as sh***y as it is). Later Chuck

    dry counties in montana?

so did this guy "buy" the track or is he just leasing it from molly? as for no alcohol on site... good luck with that. there are plenty of folks that dont drink. but I have never heard that drinking alcohol at a race kept people away. I think I'll pour me a double.

Just talked to a guy in Billings yesterday. The Billings Drag Race club had a meeting that Ken Gillis, (new owner/operator etc) was to show up at and discuss help for promotion, running the track etc.............He didn't even show up:confused:. 80 some people there wanting to know whats happening with the track, and He didn't even have balls enough to show up. As for who owns it.......I don't know for sure. Sounds like Molly got some money down, but not very much, and gave this clown a set of keys to the track. I got a bad feeling about it. :(:(

This guy sounds like a flake. more BS than ability. Im not driving 550 miles and work on the car in 100+ heat and have a bowl of ice cream. I hope Molly got paid in full, nice lady, and I liked Ron Omo as well. A nice thing about 160 acres, plenty of room to bury mistakes  makes me appreciate the new manager in spokane is a Canadian. wonder if they will have Kokanee on tap? :)

Hey Mark: next time you're over at Randy Schecks, he can hook you up with some "okie-dokeys" :)

I wish the new track owner well, its his to fail if he keeps it up. Starting a new program and he thinks the big issue is to change the beer garden? The number 1 problem is the the 3 miles or rough road into the track. man does that road tear things up; regardless of how slow you drive in. The local rodders dont like it one bit. But its way cool to watch the antelope on the way in. Very tasty. ;)
