We now have our first BBC Dart Big M block and was shocked when main bolts were recommended over studs.
This is a 1800 HP roots blown setup.
Are any of you running the mainbolts that came from Dart?

We have always used Darts bolts, many motors in the 1200-1600 range. On a higher maintenance engine, some people use studs because with constant remove and replace the studs would eliminate thread wear in the block.

I started out with the bolts in my Big M for the first seanon I ran it and then I changed over to the studs the second season. I also had cap walk or chatter. Mine was from leaving so low and loading the bottom end. I like the studs better.
