We are using a cleavite V bearing in a blown hemi application for tractor pulling. The bearings were looked at after 4 pulls and had a "pock mark"appearance. Looking at Bobistheoilguy site it most resembles the cavitation erosion problem in their pictures.
The pulls typically are full load for 12 to 15 seconds(about 48lbs of boost) and oiling may have become a problem(pumping more out then returns to the pan). Is their a website with decent pictures or has anyone sent bearings to cleavite to be looked at? Is this a commen bearing sign when under extreme conditions? Thanks

We had the same problem on our bearings until we switched to our new oiling system. Sounds like oil airation from how much oil thats being pulled from the pan and how much is returning from the heads.
What type of combo is this on?
