I’ve never heard anything good or bad about Milodon BBC cam gear drives. I’m happy with the Pete Jackson and Donovan gear drives.
What are your experiences with the Milodon?
Do parts interchange with the Donovan?

    Milodon Drives

I have been using a Milodon drive since 2002 and have never had to replace any parts, I change the bearings and seals just because its apart. The gears always look like they have never been run. The way you initially set up the drive on a new block is a little MickeyMouse ( you use news paper to set gear lash) (as per the instructions). But once that is done they are great. The only draw back is the cam hub, it doen't have enough holes in it to set cam degree, I had George Sitko make me a new one with twice the holes and now its got surgical precision.

    I've been happy with it.:D

No it can always be degee'd in,its just faster with the hub with more holes. Plus you can move the cam in finer increments when the hub has more holes. I would have used the old one but I put on a front mag drive and it came with a modified hub. I just found it easier.

    What do YOU use?

Curious to know what you guys use in your BBC's? and why

I use Pete Jackson's and Donovan's. I like the Donovan's better because of the access to the cam.

    Gear Drive

I looked at the Donovan and it looks pretty much the same as the Milodon. The Donavan and the RCD look like they are all billet as opposed to cast aluminum front covers.

    Milodon gear drive

I`am currently using my second Milodon gear drive for my blown bbc.
The first time i had one is almost 15 years ago.
What both of them had in common is that the bolts that attaches the cover to the block are coming loose after a few passes (even with loctite).
I finally ended up drilling each bolt head and using safety wire.
The initial set up procedure is a litle bit messy (compared to a conventional
chain or Jesel drive) but once done easy to handle.
Very reliable because the idler gear is supported twice.
Nice feature is that one can remove the stick without removing the whole
    cover.
