Want some info forge crankshaft on bbc blown alkys to get 2,000 hp.

I hear go billet..... but some say it's overkill
Then think about 4340 forge cranks... but don't know which is best for 2,000 hp application.

    BBC 540 1471 hi helix

I ran a 4340 Crower in a 2800lb 1/8 mile car with an F rotor SSI 14/71 at 54% over with no issues.

    BBC Lunati Blower Crank/forged 4340

I ran a Lunati 4.25" stroke blower crank in a 540ci BBC for 12 years with no problems and went as fast as 4.04 and mainly 4 teens with no concerns except the six crank flexplate bolts, I had to keep a real close watch on them as they would loosen after 5 or 6 runs. I red loctited and tried everything and if running a BBC again, I would order an 8 bolt hemi flange on the rear. I hope this helps and we ran a Powerglide too with a 14-71 Kobelco Superman. THANKS! and Good Luck! Jim

We just use the stock GM cranks 3.76 stroke, twist the motor up to 9600.
    Has run 5.96 @ 242, works good.

The callies magnum with NO lightning holes is what my ODDY"S built 540 had in it & we mad 2439hp & 1736TQ we made 50 1/8 mile passes, changed rods, bearings, springs & rings, always magged the crank, NEVER had an issue, WE DID RUN A CRANK SUPPORT , and I wouldn't run a chevy without it , The howards PRO series crankshaft is made from the same Louisville forge steel, heat treated and machined by callies , years ago it was about 600 cheeper to by the howards, but I couldn't tell you prices now.
