Didnt someone a while ago bring up an external kill switch that say a crew or track official use to kill the car, like with the monster trucks.Isnt a crew guy in the shut down area prior to the car to bring them back due to turn around time.or send one down to the shut down area.I am just speculating and this is not a fact it is speculating. With Neal some people felt the car made no attempt to stop,so if the driver was not able to stop the car someone might have
Didnt we bring this up with Shelly Howards tragedy.

    Auto Shutoff

I have stressed on other forums that this type of device should have been incorporated after Big Daddy's 1986 Summernationals blowover incident .

Having the driver knocked unconcious or incapacitated and the car charging back at the starting line under power would be extremely tragic for a lot of people and would forever change our sport .

Having a car charging towards the end of the track under power with the driver incapacitated has proven to be surely tragic .

I suggest the Safety Safari appoint a spotter , ( a referee if you like that term ) , at the 1000 ft. mark who can make the decision and initiate the command to end the run if obvious malfunctions occur . ( ie. Mr. Johnny West's fuel funny car hitting the wall and then riding the wall at high idle all the way to destruction at the end of the track ) .
Everyone is rightly concerned about netting , sandtraps , 1000 ft. racing , etc. but there has been very little concern for the " other " end of the track .
Your loved ones and crewmembers are back there .

I can't stress this enough again ..... we can't let this happen ONCE .
