Okay I find it sort of hard to admit...but...I have been getting this re-occurring fever for some in depth info on this engine combo. I am currently about to finish a Kb Olds with Big Chiefs and a Whipple blower for a mud racer and thought that would be all the motor I would ever want. Now I have the fever to start tractor pulling and have seen how long these Arias engines have been kicking ass in this sport...Now when I go to bed at night I keep picturing one of these style engines in my fleet... I have read everything I can find on these combos (limited amount). What I would really like to see is some head flow numbers for the different heads. I want to see the proof of the power they are capable of making compared to what I have now. I have seen the dual plug Arias heads and wondering if they were originally designed for blown alky or nitro. I am familiar with the Chevy version with 3 pushrods and I know I am not loking for that...

Can anybody feed my head with some knowledge???

If you want some hemi and wedge flow #'s check out www.alanjohnson.com and go to the products page . At the top of that page click on current product flyers link . You might be suprised at how much some of the best heads don't flow . Just thought you might be interested .

    fontana heads

i put a oldr set of t/a fc heads on a sf600 and the intake went 550cfm with a 2.6 intake valve . i was told by fontana at the time(not miner) that they didnt think the engines could use any more airflow than that. i think for more accurate readings they should be done on a bigger flowbench.(sf1000)

Thanks for all the replies. I have talked to Bob Minor and would have to say I was impressed with the flow numbers. They were very close to the numbers stated in above post. He gave me numbers at 25" and I would like to convert them to 28", Can I just add percentages from 25 to 28 to the flow numbers?
I have talked with a couple of Arias/Fontana guys talking about rocker arm geometry problems. Does anyone know exactly when that got worked out, Did Rick get it straight or did Bob fix that?
Will the Arias/Fontana heads fit any other brand blocks or strictly their own Stuff?

And I do realize the asphalt settles al testing disputes, but lets face it, most guys don't have unlimited funds to test everything.

    Keep it coming...

To convert from 25" to 28", muliply by the square root of 28 divided by 25, which equals 1.058. so an airflow measurement of 100 cfm at 25" would be about 106 cfm at 28". Hope this helps,

    Travis

We Run The Miner Bros. (fontana) And Have For About 13 Years. The Rocker Geometry Works Great. We Have Zero Problems With Rockers And Pushrods. You Would Be Best To Stay Away From The Older Stuff And Make Sure You Get The Latest Manifold, Heads And Rockers. The Thing Makes A Ton Of Torque, Is Very Reliable, And Super Easy To Work On. The Heads Only Fit The Miner (fontana) Blocks. No Interchange With Any Chrysler Stuff. The Bottom End Has 3" Pan Rail Extensions That Bolt On, So When You Kick The Rods, You Usually Don't Put A Window In The Block. The Heads Come Off With The Manifold On, So Very Easy Maint. Bob Is Great Help And Will Give You The Best Service In The Industry.

Ours Has Went 5.57 & 257 At Seattle In Tafc

    Flow me

looks like 555cfm at .950 intake, and 386 cfm ex at .950. flowbench sf600 was at 300 ft elevation, and benchmark max was 601 cfm at 28in for machine. 2.6 intake, 1.9 ex. most of these alky cams are 1inch in lift or over, but engine wont see that ever at valve.:) you have a emai, i can send u pics of the flowcharts. the hemi rocker ratio all depends on pushrod length, adjuster lenght, head gasket thickness, etc, it can vary from 1.6 to past 1.9. only way to know for sure is to mock up engine and measure it.
