You might be a little late for recert in this case. He's been out of the bellhousing business over forty years, more than ten years before certs even came along! If what you have is a Lakewood can, Joe was six or more owners ago, but Lakewood Ind. still exsists, call them. 216-688-8300.

Sold over 600 bellhousings in the early "80's when our design was excepted as the standard still known today. I sold them as Meyer-Lakewood Bellhousings. We used Lakewood shells as they were unprepared to do "race ready" cans. Late "80's they were advised by their legal staff, they must bring that service back in house. Most of my units were ordered with a scalloped flange, which became illegal in the late 90's. To my knowledge they installed the four big bolt flanges on several of my units and are still certifiable today if in good shape.
