    rod ageing

Aluminum will change its properties after rolling or forming but VERY little after cooling off. To cover all the posibilities caused by heat, cooling, age, this reply would become book length.
If Aluminum changed its mechanical properties much with age airplanes would be falling out of the sky on a daily basis. Stress cycles will effect it as with any other metal. Call a rod manufacturer and talk to them but be aware they naturaly will want to sell you new rods :)

And if they tell you that yours are stale and no good anymore send me a PM I like to collect race car parts (I want to mount them on the wall in my racing themed resturant not use them, honest ;)) and could go as high as 5 cents on the dollar
