I have a hemi with Brad 5's and a Whipple 980R. When I warm the engine up, holes 7 and 8 are really wet. Do I need to cut back the fuel on warm up to stop this from happening? I am just affraid of leaning out the front holes.

    Thanks

When we ran a Whipple years ago, the last two holes were always really wet. Had to have someone hold a rag over the pipes while backing up so the tires wouldn't get wet. You could probably go to a dribbler system, and blank of the nozzles to the back two cylinders.

    trim

i dont know about the whipple, but with our psi set up for the lencodrive, 7 & 8 are pretty wet during warm up. we trim the fuel back until 7 & 8 dry up. i wouldn't go much more than about half way closed. we idle it this way for 90 seconds, then open it back up. with the engine having some heat in it, it will probably burn much cleaner once you open the fuel up. then you can bring the rpm's up, run it through the gears, stage rpm, etc.

i think towards the end of the whipple era some teams put 3 lb checks in the rear cylinders in the dribbler nozzles. this helped with the spray out of 7 at ilde.

Just out of sheer curiosity, how does an A980 (front load), or R980 (top load) Whipple stack up versus a PSI C or D? Can a person still get parts for an A/R 980 Whipple? Certification is not an issue.
