Movie premieres and racing all in a day's work for De Joria

FALLON, Nev. – After attending the World Premeire of Adam Sandler's "You Don't Mess With Zohan," NHRA Top Alcohol Funny Car driver Alexis De Joria and the Tequila Patrón/Jack O'Bannon Racing team will be looking to get back on track during this weekend's Division 7 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event at Top Gun Raceway in Fallon, Nev. De Joria hopes to continue team Crew Chief Bob DeVour's history of success at this track this weekend.

De Joria, 30, the daughter of Patrón Spirits Company and Paul Mitchell Hair Care Products founder John Paul De Joria is excited about returning to divisional competition this weekend under the guidance of DeVour.

“Bob has done pretty well at Fallon,” said De Joria. “He’s done so much to help my driving this year, so I can’t help but be excited about racing there. We struggled a little bit in Topeka, but we made a respectable lap in the first round. Hopefully we can make some more good laps in Fallon this weekend.”

De Joria was also able to take a break from the on-track action to attend the world premiere of the Adam Sandler movie “You Don’t Mess With Zohan,” in which her father appeared in.

“My dad played a part in the new Adam Sandler movie “You Don’t Mess With Zohan,” stated De Joria. “He brought me to the premiere as his date, so that was pretty cool to get to go to that. That kind of stuff can be fun, but I’m ready to get back on the track.”

Qualifying begins on Friday for the alcohol cars with two more sessions on Saturday. Final eliminations will conclude the event on Sunday.
