alcohol supercharged egt temps

    What are some of you guys running temp wise on a supercharged alcohol motor , I am new at this & just installed egts & just curious what to look for from idle to top end . Thanks in advance

    We need more info on setup. What size is the blower , motor , fuel system?'

    If you are low on the timing your egts will lie to you. They will read high because you are burning out the pipe, and the plugs will not show heat. The EGT probes are a good tool to tell if you have a problem in that particular cylinder. Your plugs are your say all end all. The temperature from each application will be different; the type of probe, the depth, timing, etc. For example, on our car around 1000* and we will burn a ground strap or start to melt the piston around intake valve relief.

    I went to a blower this year and now have zoomies instead of a conventional header with collector, so my O2 sensors became worthless to me.

    After reading thread after thread on this site, I spent $75 on 8 sets of spark plugs and have been dialing in my engine one pass at a time. After about 6 passes with one pass per set of plugs, I think I've got the engine tuned in pretty nicely. Now I'm still a bracket guy (Q16, TD, etc) so I don't have or need the performance of the true TAD guys around here, but I think $75 on plugs was one of the best ways I've spent my money so far. Told me far more than O2 or EGT for far less money.
