Seems everytime I pull my cam driven fuel pumps off I have a rusty snot gel in that general area, usually up against the pump.

Sometimes the hex pump drive is rusty, even though I always clean it off before assembling it.

I assume its a little bit of alcohol making the steel rust from absorbing water?

Do you get this same general thing happening?

Sounds like the rear (internal) seal has dried out somewhere along the way and is now leaking out the rear. This will take out the shaft bearings if it continues.

Interesting, maybe the seal is dried out, it seems to happen to all 6 of our pumps.

If you do not have a bearing in your extension -- it could be just oil and fuel residue that gets pushed up in there during the run----------------- I see it all time in a Nitro setup with no bearings in the fuel pump extension----no seal problem.
