In my previous car , i had alluminium tank with a AN10 ball valve vent , then betwhen races (week or two ) the alcohol stays in the tank . Now i have a dragster with a big 1 inch tube vent , with opening toward front of car . does it exist a cap to close this vent or the guys simply drain completely the tanks after each races.
    Thanks
    Claude

hold up...I would NEVER leave any fuel in my tank or the rest of my fuel system.. we down service the whole system pull all the checks and blown them out then spray with wd-40 and put some torco assemble lube in the pump and turn it over ,,also blow out the blower and spray it with wd-40. Rember if your manifold or blower is mag. the alky will EAT it up and eat it fast...a few extra minutes will save you a lot of $$$$...Dave Lowe

I think the one thing that Dave did not mention that is VERY important, is that you HAVE to do this after every day at the track... Not a week or more after an event... Alky is a mean substance that has many ways of screwing up a whole bunch of otherwise good equipment...
If anyone does it different, I'm sure I will be corrrected,or learn something new... We drain and blow after every day-o-fun, but get it out of there ASAP... ;)

yeah... i know guys that leave there stuff sit for a week plus. but they don't have the same crew chief that i do. you might know him... a lawyer by the name of murphy and he is always right and always there to prove his point. i'm not sure when i hired him... but he refused to accept his 'pink slip' or leave! damn i hate that guy!

for what it's worth i like to blow all the lines out like mentioned and i use marvel mystery oil. i just spray the lines down and force it through with some air. poof... red mist everywhere=happy fuel system

just another way to skin the cat

Do you remove all 16 lines from the nozzle to blow it with air ?
