One of the most common triggers and time is the shift to second gear. You can Tee off the Lenco air pod to the retard control.

Than maybe a microswitch that is activated by the movement of your shifter.

    blower pressure ??

what about retarding timing if blower pressure reaches a certain psi ??
i know that there are enricheners to add fuel if the blower pressure goes to high to prevent banging the blower, what about retarding off a blower psi.activation switch like the enrichener, is it even worth the thought?? may be a dumb question and not possible?????.thought id try it out anyway....geeeeee daaaaavvvvveeeyyy

We have our mag drive setup with an air switch on the throttle pedal which is plummed to a Decker air timer. We run it so that we leave the starting line with high advance, then knock it back anywhere between 0.5-1.5 seconds out so that it doesn't hurt the motor.

    I Maybe Retarded

I Am Working On Putting A Air Retard On Our Car Air Shifted Lenco Im New At This But This Was My Idea I Was Going To Tee Into The High Gear Line On The Shift Button And Take A Little Timing Out In High Gear Since The Engine Is Pulling Hard And Does Not Seem To Need As Much Timing To Run At High Rpm And Maybe Saving Some Parts This Is Just My Idea And God Knows I Have Been Wrong Before (just Ask My Ex Wife She Tell You) This Is A Great Topic To See How Many Different Thoughts Are Out There If I Wrong Please Tell Me Before I Get This Thing Plumbed Thnaks Jamie

you will hurt it before the 1/8 mile with too much timing. you should start out simple jamie. find a baseline without gadgets before you start trying to add leanouts or retards. all you need is 2 jets to learn how to go a-b. learn how to have fun jamie then you can try to go fast.

I agree totally with Bruce, go have some fun and when you're ready for the gizmos, give Les Davenport a call. He's not cheap but he'll set you up with what you want and it'll work the first time, every time and if you listen to his words of wisdom you'll pick up the pace and not hurt parts.
