Air retard or 6 shooter

    which is the most dependable/better
    for a FC roots car
    air retard unit or a msd timing retard
    thoughts/opinions

    I like the air retard much better because it is a mechanical thing that will work very consistently. I also think that you have better control over where, when, and how, it goes to the timing you want. I would say that 90% of us have lost 1 or a lot of runs because something was going wrong inside one of those little ignition boxes. If something was wrong with the air retard you would know about it right away. Also I dont think any of those electric boxes are accurate under tire shake and common vibration.

    Anything that works of a timer can be inconsistant.The MSD box has never failed for us unless the battery goes dead thats why you should run their cappacitor along with the battery. Mike

    Why change timing? Because timing is a right now power change; fuel takes a bit longer to see a change.
