I'm interested in logging AFR for each cylinder in a TA/FC application. We currently use a Racepak Pro 1A data recorder with EGT etc.

I'm thinking of a seperate recorder with AFR and engine rpm and use it in conjunction with our Racepak computer. Maybe an industrial recorder with matching software?

    Any thoughts?

Finding the right sensors might be the hard part. Also keep in mind that with individual pipes some fresh air is actually reversed in to the pipe, so sensor location would be an issue. We have done a little testing on the dyno, with inconclusive results. If you get something that works, post some results.

What you can see on the spark plugs are the timing and air-fuel ratio just before you shut the engine off.

Finding a wide band O2 sensor is a little hard becauseyou need it to go as rich as around 2:1 because at launch it is real rich and then stables out a little leaner as you get going. The O2 systems are out there that will do it but they are expensive. I good one with the sensor and the electronics box will cost you around $1000. Racepak does sell one that plugs into their units but they will also be costly. I would highly recommend using one with the NGK sender vice a Bosch sensor especially if you want to read in the 3:1 to 5.5:1 area.
