Hambridge and Team APM looking to impress in Sydney this weekend.

Sydney NSW, AUSTRALIA - In the hotly contested arena that is ANDRA Championship Drag Racing, any one team can win on any given day regardless of the size of the budget behind them. One race team proving that great things can come from relatively humble beginnings is Team APM and Top Alcohol Dragster pilot, Aaron Hambridge.

Aaron and his crew never let the more generously funded teams get in their way when they mean to win a race and as they’ve proved time and time again at their home track, Western Sydney International Dragway, they are truly a force to be reckoned with, especially when the pressure is on.

With each successive performance over the course of this season bringing with it quicker times and faster speeds, the team is quietly confident of another fantastic result at a venue that has been very good to them in the past. With the support of the enthusiastic home crowd behind him, Aaron says that, while his competition is tough, the 470 cubic inch Hemi engine is making some serious horsepower and that the data collected at last weekend’s test and tune will prove invaluable come race day.

“The car ran quicker and faster numbers to half track than it has ever run before and with the extra data we’ve gained from the test session on the weekend, we should be in our best position yet to take home a win. We’ll be racing in a sea of Queenslanders this weekend and it’s always good to know that you have the crowd on your side. The feeling you get coming down the return road at your home track after winning a race is incredible and the support from the fans is amazing.”

The massive WSID crowd isn’t the only group Hambridge and Team APM will be looking to impress at the Nitro Champs come Friday and Saturday nights. With the ex O'Bannon Tequila Patron car repainted in an evil shade of satin black, the team is on the lookout for a major partner to join Aaron in his quest for ANDRA Championship glory. If proven results, a winning personality, dedication to his sponsors and a drive to be the number one count for anything, then there can be no doubting the potential for an amazing partnership should the right sponsor come along.

Team APM’s 3000-plus horsepower dragster is the newest car in the sizeable Top Alcohol field for this weekend’s Snap On Nitro Champs event and with recent testing netting further improvements in the tune-up of the chassis and engine, Hambridge will definitely be one to keep your eyes on come Friday night.

Just a quick update to say that Aaron qualified the car in third place out of eleven vehicles with a 5.723 @ 241.71mph pass. This was his only qualifier due to a broken valve before the finish line that took a sleeve and a couple of pistons with it along the way so after an all night effort in the shop, the car will be back for round one of eliminations where he'll face off against the TA/FC of Steve Reed who qualified with a 6.05 @ 236. Aaron won their last round one face-off so it should be another good race this evening at WSID, Sydney.
