    Hambridge a Winternationals Record Breaker

The racing at this weekend’s Castrol EDGE Winternationals is bound to be as fierce as ever and if recent performances are anything to go by, there’s little doubt in anyone’s mind that records will fall. No-one is more determined to see this happen than current Top Alcohol Dragster national record holder, Aaron Hambridge.

Having made the trek north last year, the state-of-the-art Team APM dragster and its pilot were in the form of the season, making it through to the final of Top Alcohol and resetting the national ET record in the process. The past 12 months however have seen each and every one of the Top Alcohol competitors lift their game and the team know it will likely take another record setting performance if they’re to repeat the spectacular show they turned on last year.

“Everyone is going fast this year. A ‘fifty’ (5.5-sec pass) was something to talk about last year but now a whole bunch of racers are running them”, Hambridge said. “It’ll take consistent passes at that level to win at the ‘Winters’ and hopefully we can get the job done.”

While three Queenslanders occupy the top three spots in the points, Hambridge will be pushing hard to go one better than his runner-up spot at last year’s event and if all goes to plan, both the ET and Speed records will take a pummelling and another victory will go to the Blues.
