Hambridge Ready To Make Tracks At WSID

Boxing Day - There’s no better time of year to spend time with family and loved ones than late December when the weather is fine and the racing hot! Aaron Hambridge and the Team APM Top Alcohol Dragster have been preparing for the Boxing Day Top Fuel Showdown for months and can think of only one Christmas present they want – an ANDRA Championship Drag Racing round win.

Hambridge’s record at Western Sydney International Dragway is impressive to say the least and he will be looking to continue his winning ways thanks to some incredible new technology, parts and support from the team’s amazing sponsors. With the incredible talents of Jamie and his team at Noonan Race Engineering as well as the latest in performance coatings from Hi Octane Performance Coatings in Sydney, the national record holder is set to take it to the quality field of dragsters and funny cars.

Fresh off the back of resetting the national ET record to a super-impressive 5.572, Hambridge is aiming to put his state-of-the-art dragster to good use as he attempts to raise the bar even further thanks to some new found power in the 471ci Hemi powerplant.

“We’re running a different engine and cylinder head combination to the rest of the field and we hope to show that Aussie ingenuity is every bit as good if not better than that found anywhere else in the world. The guys from NRE (Noonan Race Engineering) are some of the most switched-on operators in the game and with their help we’ll be chasing our own record as well as the competition this season” said Hambridge.

“We’ve made a bunch of changes to the car for this year and if it all goes to plan we’d like to think we can qualify at the head of the field and be a great chance for an event win at our home track. The only reason we’re able to produce a competitive race car is thanks to the support of Fabre Australia, NRE, Hi Octane Performance Coatings and Steve’s Speed Shop. We get so much help and support from these guys and it’s awesome to be able to race for them.”
