    Howdy all,
I would like to see just how many current PRE 1982
A/OR B/FUEL Injected funny cars are out there, including the
ones that are in the process of being built. OR are,
original 1970`s cars sitting in your garage/barn/field.
If you have one to drive or if you would like to
build one to run,..please post up I would like to get
a head count. I know of 5 cars right now that could run.
I am trying to get an idea how many peeps with these type
of cars have been waiting for a class to run in.
My car is an original Pro Comp car from 1971 and meets all of
todays sfi specs and will make its maiden voyage next spring,
on alcohol, but once it is established going A to B I will be
gradually Tipping the can and adding nitro , 35-40% and then
right to 85-90% nitro, I am shootong for running 6.60 to 6.90 range,
There are a couple of places where we can run these cars, but I think
there are more of these cars out there than most think, and if so
it could become a big part of the nostalgia movement, running with
the 70`s big show cars. so if you have one, or would like to be a part of this movement,
please post up,..Private Message me, or email me.
    This is totally Faaaaar Ouuuuuut.
    thanks

    Chi-Town Hustler

Troy Martin is running the old Chi-Town Hustler Funny Car. He actually has 2 bodies (mini charger and Mustang) with 1 chassis.

    injections nice but ...

So are you thinking about a group of injected nitro f/c to match race? the injected feds that ran in spokane were pretty cool. Theres also more interest in the blown 7.50 cars.

We are an A/Fuel and B/Fuel funny car and fuel altered, usually run alky (cheaper) but our Corvette body is a 1984, but its very old school, no aero spaceship tricks to it, gonna paint it hugger orange w/ twin black stripes (copy of a 1969 Z-28 Camaro) never understood why the "nostalgia" cut-off point did NOT move up each year, or just say must be 20 yrs old or more, here is pic before paint [IMG]

    Definetly wild...
When are you going to run it down the 1/4 mile ??
I see the 6.50 ET is for the 1/8th.

What about on nitro, when are you going to tip the can ???

I look forward to hearing the progress report.

1/4 mile in December at Bradenton, for first time ever. We have our 4.90 set-up in it now for 1/8th mile, which works out to 7.50 in the quarter mile, we ran those 6.50's (1/8th mile) repeatedly with a plethora of problems, lenco not shifting into second, MSD ignition coil giving up during the run then relighting on return road (gotta love that) terrible traction complete with turning the car sideways on the launch, sometimes two or three times in same run before I gave up, on two of those MSD plagued runs we had 1.17 and 1.21 60 foot times, was gonna be low 5 but.... We joined the "Southern Classic Funny Cars" series and will compete on a 7.50 index, so for now we are just shooting for that (4.90 @ 140 mph in the 1/8th) running tonight at Lakeland Florida (LMP) wearing the altered body as the vette needs more supports (it rubs front tires when making downforce) We have complete A/Fuel injection system, never ran it YET, was told "will run 5.90's down dirt road" in our car, don't know any dirt roads with nice guardrails LOL

Just follow the Divisional trail... Any divsional track that also doesn't host a National event most likely could fall into that category... And some of them don't even have the nice guardrails...
