When you visit this site you can enter your address and a map will pop up
with your house as a small icon of a house. There will be red, blue and
green dots surrounding your entire neighborhood. When you click on these
dots a picture of a criminal will appear with his or her home address and
the description of the crime he or she has committed.
The best thing is that you can show your children these pictures and see
how close these people live to your home or school.

This site was developed by John Walsh from Americas Most Wanted. This is
another tool we can use to help us keep our kids safe.

Thanks Bob for the link. I looked up my house and thankfully I dont have any offenders in my immediate 'hood but I do within about 1.5 miles. Definately a good thing to know and to keep an eye on when my family is out and about at local parks and such.

With 100% seriousness, I checked my address with the link in this post. My 8 year old daughter just had a professional "private parts" presentation at Church this evening, so the timing of the link struck a chord with me. I've occassionally checked this or .gov related sites.

Honest to god, this site shows a red dot close to my home. I live at 7530, the offender lives at 7677 of the neighborhood street address. This is a new resident in the past 30 days.

I thank you for prompting me to look. My radar is now fully up. I will make sure she sees the picture and knows the address of the bad guy. My bad guy's picture is of him in a tie, which is perfect because the kids think the bad guys don't dress professional.
