Hi, quickly introduce myself, Phil Crossley from the UK, i currently race a blown alky bike here in the UK built by Bob Brooks.
I'm doing some design drawings for an engine i want to make for an Injected Nitro bike. The rules here in the UK will allow an engine size up to 3300cc n/a. There are lots of injected nitro bikes already but they are all v twin Harley style engines. Im trying to work out the dimensions for a 3026cc DOHC V4 with 2V per Cyl, and i'm looking at the possibility of making use of commonly available parts from the v8 car world - so i don't get bogged down with making absolutely everything, and maybe keeping costs down.
    Bore 111mm (4.375")
    Stroke 78mm (3.070")
    Rod length 145-155mm (5.7-6.1")
I thought the bore size would allow a wide choice of domed/Hemi 2valve pistons and valves too?
Anyway, what are peoples thoughts and suggestions? i would appreciate any advice on parts suitability/recommendations on all those things.
    Cheers

Phil; I've been to Santa Pod many times and always make a few passes through the bike pits. Amazing engineering on some, such as blowers, blocks and heads and some Swedish stuff that's unbelievable because it was hand made on a milling machine, no CNC.
I remember a V4 nitro sand dragster that ran really good 20 years ago, I think was a sawed and welded cast KB block and heads. Maybe somebody will remember his name. Go find Stig next week and ask about billet stuff to start.
    Good Luck !

Thanks for your Reply Bob, I'm off to Santa Pod tomorrow for the opening round in the European championship. It's now the only track left in the UK sadly. This is the bike i'm racing this year. As you say, all manual machine work, no CNC. Do come and find us next time you are there[IMG]
