    why would I need to take timing out based on boost?

    One reason would be if you had a valve train failure that shut off a single cylinder. If this happens the the boost to the remaining cylinders increases and you can go into detonation and destroy the motor. So if you always had 42 lbs of boost you go set it up for 43 or 44 lbs to pull out timing.

    I had Leahy make me a solenoid that when it reached "x" psi, it activated the safety box (kill mag/shut off fuel/chutes). This has saved us twice this past season, both times a rocker broke and it would have been a bad bad day had it not shut stuff down. It was very reasonable, under $100, you could run it to your ignition if you don't run the safety box.

    Gorr also addresses this in a different way with a switch (valve) that adds more fuel if psi goes up. Boost retards are sometimes used same as RPM retards, to take away some timing at top end.

    30 psi max

    looks like is has a 30# max in the instructions, is this correct?
