I agree, for Six Shooter control the Dave Leahy box is the best. You also will have to buy an MSD 8168 to control the Six Shooter.

I control fuel mgt. with a dedenbear n20 controller/timer. I think it would work ok on a 6 shooter.
I would strongly recommend trashing everything and getting an 8973 or powergrid. Chances are your competition has one.

There is no doubt that the 8973 or the Power Grid gives a lot more versatility that a Six Shooter. The Digital systems allow for a lot smoother timing curve change than a Six Shooter. Six Shooters with timers are limited to how many retards you have in first gear and at the shift to second gear. You can configure a Leahy EMS timer to give you three retards in first and two in second gear or two retards in first and three retards in second gear. Plus if you take out a lot of timing then you have to ramp it back in slowly or you will blow off the tires with the sudden power increase. The problem is that there are associations that do not allow the 8973 such as the FIA in Europe. The Power Grid is the ultimate control with all the Plug and Play Modules.

You have talked me into a 8973. Made not to. I really need it for the gear shift and if the track is slippery end track. Most our tracks are only concrete to about 80 feet out. The transition is hard with a powerglide car. My car really likes to un settle the car on the 1 2 shift
