The Fontana type motors that Bob Miner sells from Miner Bros. racing are a 4.500 bore. They use the CN block. There are lots of guys using the BAE at 4.467 but none that I know of boring them to 4.500. Must be a reason? Dave Germain

If you wnt to 4.5" those sleeves would be so thin they wouldn NEVER stay round. We struggle with the 4.467 a LOT more than the old 4.375's we ran. TRUST ME!

    sleeves

you are only going .017 more per side, should be fine.
the brad "pro mod" sleeve is 4.666 under the flange and 4.610 for bottom third. this means that .055 left in bottom part.
the material left between bore and reciever groove is thin but should be ok if in good shape. k.b. solid block sleeves are 4.700 straight wall and same reciever groove. many have been used at 4.500 bore.
can't compare arias( mbr) sleeves as they use a chevy sleeve w/ a 4.84 b.s. and 4.750 od. bigger reciever groove too. 426 hemi is only 4.80 b.s. chuck

my main concern is the small undercut where the liner steps down in size half way down, it will only leave 0.030" of wall thickness in that section its only around 0.080" wide but just worried that it will tear the liner in to two pieces, maybe i should just bore the block and fit the kb 4.700" parallel liners in it?
