Just wanting to run a few things by you guys.

1 Im building a low boost alky 28% over 8-71, 12 to 1 static comp, 572" mopar, Im wondering what is a good peak fuel pressure range, when it was an NA motor our high speed popped around 75 psi. Ive heard of people up in the 150 range??? I liked my 75psi, any ideas or info would help.

2 Port nozzles and hat nozzles, is 60% enough to keep the blower happy? Or should I run more like 75% to the hat?

3 Timing, Again when it was a 14.5 to 1, NA motor we ran 36 degrees, now im thinking of starting it out at 28 or 30 degrees, does that sound right??

Im not out to get every last bit of horsepower I can, Im probably pushing my luck on my tires, suspension as it is, maybe even my driving ability. I just want to keep the motor happy.

And one more thing, who makes a good setup for blower restraints??

This is my first time with a blower :D, im just trying to learn things the cheap way, NOT the trial and error way, its to damn expencive. :)

    Never be afraid to LIFT.

different pumps can handle more pressures. my enderle 110 pump is about 110lbs.maxed. the hilborn can handle more.
    60% to the hats ok
and timing should be about 28-30. now thats my 2cts. and all that its worth.
if you want to do it RIGHT, quit talking to me and send the system to a smart person. there are many. for my money I went with spud miller @ www.fuelinjectionenterprises.com for all the work he did it was a very good price. and with very little effort the car ran the numbers I wanted it to. there are plenty of others. but most on here will agree, dont play with it yourself. check other posts on fuel systems and you will see. good luck

We try not to let our fuel pressure drop below 125 or 130 psi, it keeps the fuel spraying as a mist into the ports, and makes sure your high speeds are going to operate properly. Recently we've gone up to about 160 psi, and I think I like it there even better. Mark is right about the 110, it will be hard to build a lot of pressure with a small pump.

Not sure what ignition you are running, but if it is a Mallory Super mag 3 or 4, I don't think you'll be happy with 28 degrees. When we ran the Mallory, we would run closer to 38, sometimes even 40 with a single mag. If you are running an MSD 12 or 20, 28 to 30 might be ok, you only need about 26 degrees with a MSD44.

Ok, I was thinking more pressure would help atomization, I think im going with alot bigger pump.

This is a nostalgia car so im using a hopped up Vertex mag, im not sure of its output, but its hit me pretty hard before.

On a blower motor if the fuel pressure gets down below 100-120 then the motor will get lazy because the fuel is not atomizing correctly. The fuel droplets become too big and you normally have to run more fuel than required to make up for it. I like to keep my fuel pressure up at 150-170 psi at 8000 rpm. On a bad weather day with real high DA I will let it get down to 130 psi. Also large fuel droplets are harder to ignite.

No, he is over by Davenport...

Give Spud or Koehler a call, they can help you out.

    Call me crazy

We just put on a data logger and found that we have 200PSI at 9200 eng rpm 4600 at cam speed when we shift it stays up at 150 then builds to 200 at the traps Dont onw if thats good but we went a 4.14 at 187 with a 388 SBC All looks good on the bottom and plugs look good also

Where are you getting these pressure reading at? I also just put a data logger on and was not sure were to put the sensor at.

I would think the best place to put a pressure sensor would be between the barrel valve and the nozzles, like in the distribution block for the ports. I get mine between the pump and barrel valve, I dont know if its really the right place for it.

Moparious, If you need your pump or system flowed we may be a little closer, also Britt has a wealth of knowledge from tuning blown alcohol engines. We are in Knoxville, Iowa. 641-828-7030, Todd.

Dave This is a good question,.....
    What is better to know,...
how much fuel your pump is flowing, or doing..,..or
to know how much fuel is going into the motor, via nozzles..???

I will have to give you a call.

I just bought an enderle 110, its new and never ran, the guy told me it flowed 13gpm, but I dont know what pressure. 13gpm seems like alot from a 110, but Ive never been around one.

i would get a bigger pump like a 1100 the you can loop it back but fore sure have someone flow your whole fuel system and get it close right off the bat so you wont be out in left field and tearing stuff up

By all means have him flow your parts!
