Ok Now I have a data logger and it seems to work fine SBX Head, SBC ,14/71, alky, PG with a RPM Pro 12. The dragster went 4.09 in the 1/8 and pushed out the burst panel at a 1000' (6.54 @ 189 coasting) It took off the tips of the plugs and I guess the glowing tips set off the back fire. So I now have a data logger and we fatting it up all the way around (Ports and main) raised the shift point so to not pull down the pressure after the shift, had the pump flowed and all is good. My qustion is when I go out this week end what type of EGT temps should I see and what type of Pressure should I see at 8000?

Why wouldn't you leave the ports and hat nozzles where they were and make the main jet or pump sizer smaller? If you made the ports and hat nozzles larger then you fuel pressure dropped. I would have thought that you knew where you were with the previous tuneup and it would have been easier to adjust it from that point rather than change everything into an unknown tuneup.

Had you made good runs prior to burning the tips of the straps? If so then what did you change to make the motor go lean. Do you read the Density Altitude and adjust the main jet accordingly?

When you say pressure then do you mean fuel or boost?

Your EGTs should be 1050 plus or minus 50 peak at the end of the run.

This was the first trip down th 1/4

I bought the car running, but it never had been run on a 1/4 I put a bigger tank with bigger breathers before we ran it. We made 3 runs and replace 3 panels. When we got home we took it apart and check the brg spread and it fine (From my old FC days long before Data loggers) Each run we fwent from a 120 main with a 40 hispeed at 65 to a 110 with a 20 hispeed to a 100 with a bloke hispeed. each it took out a difernt plug. (1,4,6) It was shifting at 8000 now I set it to shift at 8200. We run a TF tire and a tight converter on the car and I know the motor drops a bunch after the shift
