We're using dual plug valve covers on our hemi but we're only using one spark plug. The second hole in the covers have the plug in them. For the tubes do you all use something to hold them down or just rely on the spark plug to keep them down?

i never used the tubes on the blank plug hole side, i just screwed an old plug straight into the head and left it.i had the rubber plug in the valve cover. the ones that were there had the plug going through them so that positively held them down..

William Bahl made me some really nice plugs for my dual plug covers. PM me and I will send you his information. I use his tubes also. If you use the tube and his plug, the tube will hold the plug in. If you use his plug with a flat sided tube you will need to place a screw in th back side to retain the plug

Yeah we have plugs in the valve covers. I guess my main question was on the spark plug tubes that i'm using, can I just use the spark plug to hold them down, or do I need something holding them down on the valve cover as well?

    tube retainers

Is it a rule for you? Wizzards and other company's sell retainers to hold the tube in if a plug decides to exit. It is a safety thing. You really don't want to hurt someone. It maybe the one you love. Good luck Don

Correct my if I am wrong, if you run the retainer you can cut the bottom of the spark plug tube off so that the valve covers can be removed without taking the heads off. Not only does this save time but it also helps of you ever damage a sparkplug in the head and cant remove it you still have the ability to get the valve cover off and yank the head.
