line hone aluminum block JP1

how many thou clearance should there be for alum block and how much for a steel block, both 426 hemi. does a blower motor need more clearance in either block? thx

 

using .003-.004 oil clearance with properly prepped bearing saddles, good bearings, straight and round crank pins/journals make for a good starting point. But, you'll find that where one block is bit more rigid(cast iron), the benefits of a purpose designed block make for a better starting point. Start conservative and inspect religiously. But YOU already knew that.
