Does someone make a tool to remove the top main bearing? I made a pin that fits in the oiling hole on the crank but I am afraid it is not very good. Is there an easier/better way to remove them?

    Thanks!

    belt

do you still have the blower belt tight?

sometimes with upper mains that are a pain, i've dropped the rest of the mains a touch to gain some clearance.

sometimes the back of the bearing needs to be ground down slightly to make it easier going in.

bearings that tight could indicate inproper clearances or line bore.

we did have a block with cannon's a/fd that was a pain in the ass, especially the thrust.

I use an ordinary paper lip to remove the uppers. Just bend one leg, put it in the oil hole, and rotate the crank.
