I am looking for some opinions on cylinder head torque setting. My setup is a BAE Billet block, 9/16 head studs top and bottom, 1/2 inners, Veney Fuel Heads .100 tall on chamber side, Nostalgia retro 6-71 blower @ 20%, this is an alky combo.

I have heard differing opinions that I should use less torque on the bottom row than the top because there is more studs on the bottom. I have also been told to set them all the same and get the inners as tight as you can. What is everybody doing out there that has a similar combo. Thanks.

We use the torque specs & sequence from Alan Johnson...Top row (9/16") first (rocker stands) @ 150 lbs. - then torque inner studs (7/16") to 60 lbs. - then torque the bottom row (9/16") to 110 lbs. - Lube studs with "peanut butter" - AKA Detroit Diesel International Compound #2. PM me and I can fax ya copy if ya want one...I also have a copy of an older KB torque sheet that's good for some of the other engine studs....Scott Gaulter

You can probably get away with 150 lbs on the top row with a billet block, I haven't tried it, but the more torque, the better.

We use 130 lbs on the top row (9/16 studs), 110 on the bottom row, and 45 on the inners.

I always torque my top row (9/16) to 150 and the bottom row to 120 with the billet block. Inside studs get torqued to 60.
