2005 Pacific Division NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Schedule Div 7 Schedule

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Tuesday, November 23, 2004

Pacific Division 2005 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event schedule.

March 4 – 6, Firebird International Raceway, Chandler AZ

April 1 – 3, Southwestern International Raceway, Tucson, AZ

May 20 – 22, Famoso Raceway, Bakersfield, CA

July 1 – 3, Infineon Raceway, Sonoma, CA

September 9 – 11, Top Gun Raceway, Fallon, NV

September 15 – 18, California Dragway, Fontana, CA (4-day, out of division event)

October 27 – 30, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Las Vegas, NV (4-day event)
    -------------------------------------------------

Fallon, NV / where did that come from, Is the track any good???

Fontana, CA / Glad to have a local Div race, I heard they are repaving the track. Out of division event for points.

4 day events?? how about 2 day events

No Sacramento, I'm sure the Northern CA racers don't like losing a Race ,but I don't care for the place.

I would consider Fallon the No. Cal replacement for Sacramento as it is east of Reno. I have 'heard' that the track surface is pretty good. Any comments?

With the large car count at Vegas I can see why it has been changed to 4 days. Can you imagine trying to run that race in 2 days?!?!?! I can just hear the announcer now... " Super Comp round 34 will be run Sunday morning at 2:30 am, with Super Gas round 56 to follow..." :D

What does out of division event mean as far as in division points goes? And will there be alcohol fields at Fontana? Anyone know?

Out of division means that the winner gets 80 instead of 85. r/u gets 60 instead of 64 so on so on
I am guessing Fontana won't get Alky, but I am not sure

The fontana track is being completely repaved. It will be longer and have a full sand trap added. I've heard we can run dragsters and funnycars their by the end of January. The divisional is supposed to be a full race with all normal classes.

From what I hear lots of new funny's. You better have your $hit together to run Div.7 this year.

    White
    Townsend
    Gasperrelli
    Taylor
    Woz
    August
    Hudson
    Williamson
    Littlefield
    Gordon
    Andriotti
    Carroll

an that's just twelve that I could think of off the top of my head.

All of um are bad ass cars.

Going to be some real good racing in Div.7 this year.

for the past 2 years the Vegas event was listed as a 4 day-er then a month before the event it is changed to 3 days just like this last race was. Alky cars might show up at Fontana but they won't get down the track.

2003 LVMS was a 4 day race. This year we thought we would lose car count do to no SG at the National and no one able to get that last grade point to get in to Pomona (Boy were we wrong).
As for Fontana the only thing that will be the same as this year is where the track sits. New pavement, New PA, New tower, and staging lanes. Top end all re-worked with sand trap and net.

I heard Kuhns or Beckman was going to drive the Meer Capitol car, the one Townsend drove at the finals. I'm glad some new cars are coming out to play........ we lost a few last year, Marx, Lee, Drake.

Adding to ROF's list: Patton, Capps, Wernhart, Gallio. Plus an assortment of out of division cars

    Is Andreotti coming back?

Eric, a friend of mine was searching high and low for a good used funny car. He called Andreotti to see if he might be interested in selling his. Andreotti didn't want to sell because he told him he was returning in 2005. Hope its true.

I'm sorry I forgot about the other teams.

    Now that should make 16.

Like I said, you better have your shit together if you plan on running Div. 7.

I didn't know Marx and Lee had quit. Whyyyyyy. :(

Marx is supposed to go pro stock racing and I heard Lee was selling his stuff, don’t know why. If I offend anyone or incorrectly stated the facts, I’m sorry, but this is a (gossip) message board. :D
