I have a BAE hemi and there is no place to bolt a chain to on the head to lift this heavy beast. Can I make a plate and bolt it to the BAE magnisium intake using the same 8 holes the blower bolts? is the intake strong enough to support the weight. Thanks Chris

you can make some plates that bolt to the header bolts. I usually run a couple of straps down under each head (front to back) and back up to the middle and they catch just under the header bolts and hold it pretty good.

Try a 6- 10 foot lifting strap and loop it under the exhaust studs. Lifts it just fine. Thats all I ever use. Dave Germain

i agree with Dave.....thats how we do it as well. if the heads are off, i use 2 short straps, and go thru the pushrod holes in the deck of the block.....go across 1&2 and 7&8. that works pretty good as well. i wouldn't bolt anything to the intake. just my 2 cents

The zoomie/exhaust stud deal is perfect. I won't lift from the blower intake (warp it???). not worth the risk.

    lift

I lift mine by the blower intake, still torqued in place. I use a home built plate with all 8 holes being used. Never had a problem. If those 8 aren't enough to lift the motor, you have bigger problems. Don't use blower studs when u attempt this.

I use two axle straps attached to the header studs with nuts and washers they are about 14 inches log and fit great on the cherry picker and the fabric strap dosent hurt the motor
