sbc spark plug heat range

    I need some help on choosing the right heat range spark plugs for my sbc. 355 ci. 2.08 head. 10.5 scr 8 pounds of boost with injected alky. mallory 5 amp mag

    You should use a -9 or a -10 plug. Probably the best would be a NGK R5671A-10. Remember alcohol does not foul a cold plug and you are not reading the fuel ring on the porcelein so you want a real cold plug to prevent detonation.

    If you are driving this on the street then it would be a little different.

    I have run the -9 (B9ES) plug for a long time on a small block with up to 23lbs of boost with no problems. The -10 plug is usually quite a bit more expensive than the -9 with no benefits in this type of combination. Good Luck

    I warm up on -8s and run on -9 5671 NGK's. I only blow about 17psi currently. 10.4:1, 372 Chevy

    -9 plugs with 358sbc , 23 deg head
    20+ psi boost
