setback plate ??????????

I have a AJPE 2 1/4" setback that is O-ringed and the bottom of the blower is also O-ringed and the O-rings match .

I wouldn't think that you would want to run an O-ring against an O-ring... so and Ideas on how to fix this problem?

I was thinking of putting epoxy or I could RTV a piece of wire in setback plate side O-ring grove?

 

if you have access to a mill..........make a new one, or make a 1/4" plate and put between them. hope this helps

If everything matches hit it with the "Right Stuff" and it will seal

We quit using o rings. They kept blowing out. Now all we use is the right stuff. Never been an issue.

Permatex Right Stuff

Be careful where you use it. This is some of the strongest silicone ever. I seen a guy almost junk an oil pan trying to get it off the motor. It will stick to anything. Oil, antifreeze, atf nothing seems to effect the right stuff. Wipe with a rag and some brake clean and look out. You don't have to super clean it first. Razor blades and putty knives are key to seperating anything light weight thats stuck together with R.S. My buddies saying is it will seal a screen door on a submarine at 100 ft.
