Just brought a new Simpson 7 point harness for a TA/FC, Instructions included in the box only show 5point and 6 point belts.

Can anyone advise where the mounting points for the two extra belts go, and do they attach to the rest of the belts by the D rings on the side belts.

Any one got any photos or diagrams of how they are mounted.

The 5th one mounts behind chest line as is common knowledge. It was explained to me that belt 6 and 7 are to keep your knees from knocking the trans and column. For that to work they would have to be mounted about mid thigh and wide. Go figga.

Chris at ISP showed me a way that makes sense to me. I mounted mine same position as crotch belt but out a few inches to each side. We basically built a rectangular box to mount the crotch and 2 side belts. Mine works great and I have the new simpson 7 point. Give him a call...very helpful.

I use the 6 way in my dragster and mounted the two crotch straps in the same location as the lap belts. This layed them out across tha seat bottom, I sit on the two crotch straps and fasten the rest as usual. The lap belts hold me down and the crotch straps hold me to the rear making it impossible ( almost ) to submarine. Kind of works like a parachute or safety harness. If I used the 7 point I'd hook the center same as a 5 point. Only took one pass to get used to the feeling but it's very secure. Jody Stroud TD 9325
