Mike Couch -- Rest in Peace our Friend

I just wanted to send a note out to all of you who knew Mike Couch.

Mike had been suffering from lung cancer which was diagnosed in December. He had been undergoing daily radiation treatments and weekly chemo treatments. He had finally succumbed to complications from this illness Friday night at 10:00pm.

Mike was the glue that held the Kalbone's team together and the one responsible for getting us all together for our incredible season last year.

He was such a great guy to everyone that knew him and will live forever in our hearts.

Please keep his wife, Shirley and the rest of his family, including his extended family, Kevin & Wendy Sims, in your thoughts and prayers.

God speed, Mike! We love you and miss you!

To the whole Kalbones Team , Kevin and Wendy Simms , I am Saddened to hear of your Loss ! I know he was not just an important part of the race team but also an integral part of the businesses and a great Friend. He was great leader and a Good Man . I express our sympathy to Mike's family and Friends and to all Who enjoyed a "raspy" laugh with him. Godspeed Mike Couch !

I'm shocked and saddened to here of Mikes passing. Mike was a great guy, quick with a smile and a hand shake. He was always a bit of a cross between Santa Claus and a Hells Angel. I last saw Mike at Rockingham in the fall. He was fussing around to make sure everyone felt at home at the Kalbones BBQ on saturday night. My heart goes out to Mikes family, Wendy and Kevin, Laurie and Dale and the Kalbones team.

Our thoughts are with you from the whole Michfab Motorsports Team. I just got to know Mike last year, he will be missed! He is the kind of "people" that make this sport so great.

Our dear friend Mike.....what a sad, sad loss to our racing family....such a happy go-lucky kind of man and so congenial, kind, compassionate, caring and most of all a true friend to our team. Lil' Bear grew up loving the Kalbones Team, along with the Ronnie days. Can't remember ever hearing any harsh words about Mike from anyone. He will be missed......Our hearts and prayers goes out to the entire family and the great Kalbones Racing Team.......God Bless and God Speed..........AMEN
