I have a quick question for you guys. I have a brad 5 motor that I am running in our altered/funny car. We put a 14-71 littlefield on it when we switched it over to the altered. Most of the tracks that we run at, with the exception of Woodburn, stick around 4000 to 5000 CA. Just wondering if anyone else has a simular combo, and what they are putting in it for GPM.

If it is one of the newer generation littlefields (with Kobelco rotors), you probably want to be in the 12.5 to 13 gallon range until you get a reading on your plugs. We have been as low as 10 gpm, but it also depends how much gear you run and how tight the clutch is.

Hey thank you for the reply Ken. At firebird in Boise, on a cloudy 70degree air was right around 4000 corected, I had it at 13GPM just to be on the safe side. The plugs all looked way safe. Just wanted to see if I was in the ball park, or just sitting out in the parking lot.:)

I'd keep leaning on it in .25 gallon increments until you start showing some heat on the plugs. While you have it rich, if one or more plugs start showing a little heat, you need to be sure to richen them. also, if you richen one, you need to find one to lean to keep your nozzle area the same. you don't want to continue to lean the overall system while you have a hole getting warmer than the rest. if you still have the system rich enough you can't distinguish which is the richest hole, just be sure to make a note of what you did, and once you start getting heat on the plugs, lean your richest hole to equal out the hole your richened earlier.

Hey Will thank you for the reply. Creeping up on it at .25 is the right way to go. I have seen people make off the wall changes, and then next thing ya know you have a boat anchor. We don't have many boat anchors in the trailer. We will keep an eye on the nozzle area, to make sure we are not getting lop sided, and make sure everything is nice and farley even . Thanks Will and Ken
