Thats called an economic indicator. Would have been there if I didn't have to feed the dam recert/update monster.Note only 2 are really based in div 2..its gonna be a rough year I think.I suspect everyone who is planning to play will be out in time for Valdosta.April 3.

    6 cars

3 pairs round one, one bye in the semis to the 1 vs. 6 matchup.

6 cars isn't all that uncommon in D2.

From what I understand, Bastaio will be back out at some point this year, don't know if they are still working on getting his car together.

    Div2

yes div 2 does have full fields. the biggest problem ,as I see it, is lead time. we all get the new rules at the same time, but div 2 has 3 races before most div have their first.just about time for the Bradenton race we look to see what rules have been deleted/updated or added. case in point...no chrome front suspension..if you had it and planned to attend these 2 races, you rushed to get in line for chassis work or simply put everything on hold until you can do it. then a few weeks go by and you find an update saying "just kidding..we meant any new cars built after 1/09"...or last year when the helmet shroud access hole kept changing and eventually eliminated with the "special" bolts.
This year it was the paint and rear latch, that by the way alot of teams are still wondering if their design will pass, and after a few more bodies fall off in the staging lanes I expect that to change too. the paint price has gotten a lot more realistic, but the sfi recerts add up to a mortgage payment at the worst time of the year. And don't forget the pay out incentive to push hard to make it.Personally I think it is time for rule changes to have a 1 year warning,of course emergency implication should be an option, but most of the time our rules changes do not appear to be so urgent.Of course in all this hassle I can't wait to see if I missed anything!
For me missing these first 2 means I can not miss the next one in Valdosta or both of the fall races.I predict 12 cars at each if the economy levels off.
Thanks for letting me rant. I just wish I was out already.
