spokane & NHRA (div6)

just got back from a meeting about the track here in spokane wa. jay livingston will be manager for bucky. jay had such a positive attitude for the future with major improvements underway. started with the tower. he will have 300ft concrete, to start with. total revamp of the facility's, consession stands, seating, bathrooms, parking, etc. this will be the place to come to very soon. Im alittle jack as you can tell. for so many years its been very bad. years ago it was one of the top ten tracks in the nation, I truly believe it will return better than ever. I hope to see many of you at our first divisional race. clint, dave, russ, etc.

 

when is the tentative date for the first divisional race?

 

Mark, Do they have any kind of an event schedule yet? I am in the process of planning our season and need some input from Spokane, Billiings, Mission, Seattle yet. By the way- Super Bowl Party at my house- I hope you can get over this side of the mountains for it. Dave

Jay stated they will have the website up within the next 2weeks. Im sure he will post something then. I dont think I should attempt to speak for him on dates. It sounded like the othert track owners were supportive of spokane becoming part of the div6 fold. tenative opening should be first week in may. weather permitting the web should be www.spokanecountyraceway.com

Thats great Jay is a great guy and treats racers well. I can't wait to see him at the track. Very cool.

Wouldn't bet on that date if I were you! Jay will do a great job in Spokane, and I'm glad that after years of discussion and legal proceedings, that they will be an NHRA track.

They have a lot of work to do, nothing has changed at the place since it was built, but they have a decent foundation to work with. Bucky is willing to do whatever it takes to bring this track back to "premiere" status. This will be one event that everyone should plan on attending in the future.

We always had good support from the Spokane area racers, and hopefully this track getting turned around will be you pay back. Mark deserves it!

 

well it seems nhra has posted that spokane is part of the fold and we will have a div6 race on june 12-14 this year. thanks form the support mike, (d7d). come on up and join the fun. we miss ya and bring some of those div7 guys with you. a side note to nhra, we ran independant for many years, with all that goes on with nhra, dont make us regret this move. do right by us.

 

Looks like I was right on the date Mike, I know it does suck that you guys have a race that same weekend.
