The boat guy that i tune for has a fresh air compressor, $3,500, he fills every one that want it for free, what a guy, you can go to your locale fire department.

Fire system guys? they used to fill my CO2 shifter bottle for like .50 / #. not sure if they have breathable air too. You could use C02 and get a good nap.

You can buy a nice aluminum scuba bottle from your local scuba shop for around $300 (the ones I looked at anyways). With the scuba bottle you can have it filled right to 3000psi, rather than a steel welding bottle that'll only take about 2200psi. When my small in-car bottle is filled right up it'll last me a whole weekend and still have some left. I think it costs me about $11 to get the large bottle filled at the scuba place.

    tank

I am a diver and I bet you will pay another 50 for a current cert and a hydro test. Ive seen 3300 psi in one before. You could use a scuba first stage regulator that will clamp straight to the tank valve and use a scuba mouth piece/second stag and get a long hose made up for it . I bet the large tank would make 50 laps depending on its use. I can stay @ 50 ft for 45 min on a normal size tank. I think it is a 80 cu. ft. and you use a lot more air at depth, you can get small mouthpieces/ second stage used for a back up for diving that would easily fit under the helmet

If you have a local dive shop (as in deep sea diving) they can fill them too.

I use a scuba bottle and the first stage regulator with yoke to fit bottle and a braided hose to go to my bottle in car so I dont have to take out of car to fill. My system in the car is homemade with a med gas regulator and a new virgin nitrous bottle with ball valve close to my hand. works great and will last all weekend for about $150.00 total.

i use mine mainly for HOT 100 degree texas nights to keep me cool and visor clean, but it will give me enough air if i have trouble. i run outlaw to so not worried about NHRA cert.

local firestation use to fill my bottle to before my buddy fuel boat racer bought a compressor for filling his dive bottles:D
