I'm in the market for a new set of Pushrods. Building a 540 BBC conventional head blown alcohol . Cam lift is .800. I want to keep it around 8000 RPM as well. I plan to run the Manton taper wall stuff but I need some advice on diameter and wall thickness. Bigger is probably better but I don't want to go way over kill.

    Thanks
    Corey

Corey, I would ask that question to Terry Manton. He will provide you with the best choice.

    Push Rods

I had also planned to call Manton as well. I guess that would be the best solution

I was having a pushrod issue with my BBC and Terry solved my problem after we talked for 5 minutes. Definately the way to go.

Bigger is almost always better, and thicker is almost always better. Weight really makes a difference on the other side of the rocker arm, but the pro stock guys learned that basically a solid bar for a pushrod will make more power than a lightweight at 10,000rpm.
But my guess is Terry will say about the same.

You absolutely have to call Terry Manton. Knows his stuff and can answer pretty much anything you throw at him. Definetly worth at least 5 minutes of your time.

    push rods

We are using Manton 7/16 to 3/8 tapered push rod .120 wall on a 526 BBC . We are using a 26 degree Profiler head , Had to do some clearancing to fit.
Very happy with the service we have had with Manton
